- Evacuate Signal
Evacuate Signal is an audible signal, a visual signal, a tactile signal or any combination of these that indicates the need for the immediate evacuation of an emergency zone.
Note 1 to entry: It is recommended that the default 520 Hz tone as defined in AS 4428.16 be used. Other tones are allowed that may be more appropriate where the ambient noise will mask the 520 Hz tone.
Note 2 to entry: Assessment of the need for a silence period is recommended, as specified in ISO 8201, to allow for communication between floor wardens and occupants or to allow orientation.
