Warden Intercommunication Phone ("WIP")

Warden Intercommunication Phone ("WIP")
Warden Intercom Phone (Red)

A warden intercom phone is a type of communications handset (typically red in colour) that enables an emergency warden in a multi-storey building or other large building to communicate with the chief warden in the event of a fire or other emergency.

The chief warden uses the warden intercom phone system to coordinate the safe and orderly evacuation of people in the event of an emergency.

The National Construction Code of Australia in conjunction with Australian Standards AS2220 and AS1670.4 covers the system design, installation and commissioning of an emergency warning and intercom system.
