The term "Fire Fighting Services & Equipment" was first used in the 2004 edition of the Building Code of Australia ("BCA") to describe a range of essential safety measures including a; fire hose reel system, fire hydrant system (including on-site pump set and fire-service booster connection), an automatic fire sprinkler system, portable fire extinguishers, fire control centres (or rooms) and provisions for special hazards in buildings, structures or places of public entertainment.
