Design Density

The design density of an automatic fire sprinkler system is the minimum density of discharge of water in millimetres per minute (mm/min) for which a fire sprinkler installation is designed; which is determined by the discharge of the group of sprinkler heads in the design area, in litres per minute (L/min), divided by the area covered by that group of fire sprinkler heads in square metres (m2).
