A circulation relief valve is a mechanical device and type of automatic valve forming part of a pump assembly and is used to prevent damage to the pump from overheating. A circulation relief valve provides a flow of cool water into and through the pump when the pump is operating with no discharge. A circulation relief valve is fitted on the discharge side of the pump.
