Yes, you hear correctly and to make our free fire extinguisher service clinic a reality, we only ask ONE thing — you bring your fire extinguisher to our free fire extinguisher clinic!
The most common type of portable fire extinguisher is a dry-chemical powder type stored under pressure (2.5 MPa) inside a pressure vessel. Depending on how the fire extinguisher has been stored, over time the powder in fire extinguisher can become compacted and could fail to discharge when needed during a fire.
There is also the matter of the fire extinguisher being a pressure vessel that could cause real harm if not hydrostatically pressure tested to determine its structural integrity every 5-years.
Other environmental and adverse operating environments can also lead to premature failure or damage to a fire extinguisher that may not readily visible to the untrained eye.
In and out in under 15 minutes, that's our plan for your service appointment.
When you arrive for your booking a friendly member of our team will greet you and conduct the service.
We will inspect the fire extinguisher for any condition such as physical damage or other condition that could adversely affect the operation of the fire extinguisher or pose a danger to people. We will also check the date of manufacture and the service history.
We will also ask you a few questions about the fire extinguisher, such as where it is stored, your expected use and any other information that may be relevant to the fire extinguisher and its intended use.
When we complete the service, we will mark the fire extinguisher service record, completing the service.
