Equipment & Safety Installations

Until the publication of the 2014 edition of the Building Code of Australia ("the Code") it included Part I1 that provides a definition of Equipment & Safety Installations. These definitions have since been removed however this section continues to lives on.

CEO, Firewize

In Volume One, Part I1 of the 2013 edition of the National Construction Code ("NCC") included details of a equipment and safety installations. This reference was removed in the 204 edition of the NCC however its legacy remains widely used across Australia.

  • Building fire integrity
  • Means of egress
  • Signs
  • Lighting
  • Fire-fighting services and equipment
  • Air handling systems
  • Automatic fire detection and alarm systems
  • Occupant warning systems
  • Lifts
  • Standby power supply systems
  • Building clearance and fire appliances
  • Other measures
  • Building use and application

These safety measures contain additional references for safety measures as they apply within the NCC.
