Fire Fan Control Panel ("FFCP")

Fire Fan Control Panel ("FFCP")

A Fire Fan Control Panel ("FFCP") is a specialised control interface used to manage the operation of the heat and smoke control measures of the mechanical ventilation systems in a building during a fire or other emergency.

The FFCP is typically designed to:

  1. Control and monitor fans: Operate fire and smoke control fans, such as pressurisation fans, exhaust fans, and smoke-spill fans.
  2. Interface with fire detection systems: Receive signals from fire detection and alarm systems (AS 1670.1) to activate the appropriate fans or ventilation systems.
  3. Enable manual control: Allow for manual override by fire services personnel to control fan operation during an emergency.
  4. Provide indication: Offer visual and audible signals to indicate the status of fans (running, stopped, fault conditions).
  5. Coordinate with smoke control systems: Work in conjunction with smoke dampers and other ventilation elements to ensure proper management of smoke movement as per AS 1668.
