- Stationary Battery
The term stationary battery applies to cells and batteries which are designed for fixed service locations (i.e. not habitually to be moved from place to place) and which are permanently connected to the load and to the direct current ("d.c.") power supply.
A motor start battery may also be considered as a form of stationary battery however they are designed to deliver a large amount of current in a short amount of time where a stationary battery used for a fire detection and alarm system, emergency warning system or emergency light and exit light system are designed to deliver a comparatively long period of time.
