- Smoke Detector
A smoke detector is a type of electronic alarm initiating device designed to detect an elevated and sustained presence of smoke and relay that signal to fire detection control and indicating equipment. There are different types of smoke detectors including;
- ionisation smoke detector;
- photo-electric smoke detector;
- aspirating smoke detector;
- video smoke detection.
A carbon-monoxide fire detector may also be considered a type of smoke detector.
