- Responsible Entity
The responsible entity or responsible person is the individual or entity responsible and accountable for the building, including the routine service of the fire protection systems and equipment.
Examples of the responsible entity include the following;
- building owner or the agent of the building owner
- occupier or tenant;
- facility manager, building manager or building supervisor, representing the owner or occupier of the building;
- owners corporation (body corporate) or its delegated authority, such as an owners corporation manager, etc.
In each State or Territory in Australia, the responsible entity is set out in legislation. This responsibility may also be novated to a nominee of the building owner or occupier of the building.
