In fire safety, a pressure maintenance pump (also called a jacking pump or jockey pump) is an auxiliary pump used in fire safety systems including automatic fire sprinkler system, fire hydrant systems or fire hose reel systems to maintain the pressure in the piping network.
A compressor used as part of a pre-action automatic fire sprinkler system is also a type of pressure maintenance pump.
