Occupation Certificate ("OC")

Occupation Certificate ("OC")

In New South Wales, an Occupation Certificate ("OC") is prepared by the Principal Certifier and authorises the occupation or change of use of a building subject to a Complying Development Certificate or Construction Certificate. For staged works, a Part OC may be issued which allows you to occupy the completed part of the building. An Occupation certificate is required for the use, occupation.

An Occupation Certificate serves a similar purpose as Occupancy Permit in Victoria.
