Maintenance Schedule

A maintenance schedule is a document that is a consolidation of each essential safety measure and the associated maintenance requirements issued previously within an occupancy permit or maintenance determination for a building or place of public entertainment.

A maintenance schedule contains three tables that may need to be prepared depending on the age of the building;

  • Essential Safety Measures for buildings completed on or after June 2, 2018; or
  • Essential Safety Measures for buildings completed on or after July 1, 1994 to June 1, 2018
  • Essential Safety Measures for buildings completed before July 1, 1994.

The owner of a building and/or place must ensure each essential safety measures (irrespective of the aforementioned dates is fit to perform at the level to fulfil its purpose as specified and is inspected, tested and maintenance in accordance with the requirements set out within the maintenance schedule.
