Hemping soap is an unrefined soap (typically yellow) that is used in combination with hemp as a form of thread seal for threaded pipes used for fire sprinkler protection. The combination of hemp and soap is more common than the alternative PTFE thread seal tape, but may not be the best solution in some installation environments such as food preparation areas, kitchens, kitchen hoods and the like.
