Hemp is us used in combination with hemping soap as a form of thread seal for threaded pipes used in an automatic fire sprinkler system. The combination of hemp and soap is more common than the alternative PTFE thread seal tape, but may not be the best solution in some installation environments such as food preparation areas, kitchens, kitchen hoods and the like.
