A flammable solid is any element or substance in the solid phase of matter that is readily combustible or which may cause or contribute to fire through contact with a catalyst or friction. Examples include; metallic hydrides, metallic sodium and potassium, oily fabrics, processed metals, matches and nitrocellulose products.
