Fire Detection Control and Indicating Equipment ("FDCIE")

Fire Detection Control and Indicating Equipment ("FDCIE") is a term that describes any (control or indicating equipment) forming part of the fire detection and alarm system for a building.  FDCIE is a type of Control and Indicating Equipment ("CIE") specifically used for fire detection and alarm systems ("FDAS").

Historically FDCIE was also colloquially referred to by a number of other acronyms however the most popular being Fire Indicator Panel ("FIP") or simply the Fire Panel.
