Collective

The term collective (also known as conventional) can relate to either;

  1. a method of operation of an actuating device such as a fire detector; or
  2. a form of wiring system circuit that supports an actuating device of the same type.

In this arrangement a collective actuating device provides logical (alarm) state signal from one or more actuating devices on a circuit to the fire detection control and indicating equipment.
