Approved Design

Approved Design

The term "approved design" was first coined or used in the first edition of Australian Standard AS 1851:2012 and means design of fire protection systems and equipment approved by the authority having jurisdiction at the time of installation or subsequent modification. Since first being published in AS 1851, the term has been subsequently used in an array of related Australian Standards.

The term "approved design" should also be considered in conjunction with the compliance with the National Construction Code.
