Alarm Signalling Equipment ("ASE")

Alarm Signalling Equipment ("ASE") is an electronic device that incorporates one or more communications devices (modem) that routes or transmits an alarm or other signals from a fire detection and alarm system or automatic fire sprinkler system to a fire alarm receiving station.

Eash ASE also includes a  unique identifier used by fire authorities to describe a specific fire safety system (Fire Detection & Alarm System or Automatic Fire Sprinkler System) in a building. ASE may also be referred to in other jurisdictions as the Automatic Fire Alarm ("AFA") number.
